Hello everyone! I can’t believe that another year is behind us and what a year! I haven’t been very good with blogging and one of my new year’s resolutions is to write more regular posts.
As all you know, winter sales have already started and they only get better in January with second and sometimes third mark downs. So I thought it would be a good idea to share my sale picks with you. It is incredibly tempting to buy so many things online and from shops when I see that there is 50% discount, but on the other hand I want to choose pieces to lead the way to the spring season. I know that soon days are going to get longer and the winter mood will totally change.
Of course, there are some pieces always considered as a good investment and timeless. Shearling or fur (faux-fur) coats, jackets, cashmere jumpers and especially insta-famous designer bags such as Chloe Drew,YSL shoulder bags and Fendi seasonal bags are perfect buys if you can find them on sale. I know its also upsetting especially when it comes to bags, paying a lot of money for a Chloe bag then seeing it on sale is really irritating. However, this is the way it is with fashion industry, apart from Chanel and Louis Vuitton!
Net a porter
Nevertheless, it is still not a good idea to buy things because there is a good bargain opportunity. When you go online to Net-a-porter or Matches fashion, you can see amazing clothes from the autumn/winter season, but as I said earlier, I am trying to get things that I can also wear in Spring. In that sense, logo printed shirts and sweatshirts, embroidered, decorated denim, anything with floral prints, frills and ruffles can be seen as good choices for Spring because new collections are still full of these fashion trends.
However, I am less sure of velvet, sparkly, metallic fabrics and bold sequins. They were perfect for winter and especially party season, but velvet might not be so popular next winter and despite all my love for the fabric, I don’t think that I would wear a velvet dress to a spring wedding. Metallic shades are kind of always omnipresent, as recently artist Jason Martin has created a Lady Dior bag in 3 different metallic colours and each bag costs more than £4000!! Yet again, I would think twice before getting anything in sparkly gold, because spring will be more about pastel colours.
